Spectrum’s Stella is ‘Nurse leader of the Year’

Huge congratulations to Stella Hannaway, our Head of Transformation in HMP Liverpool, who was crowned “Nurse Leader of the Year” at the Nursing Times Awards 2019!

Stella attended the glittering Nursing Times ceremony in London last night, where she was joined by Belinda Loftus, our Cluster Manager for Sexual Health, and hundreds of other healthcare professionals celebrating the very best of nursing.

The Nursing Times Awards are the largest and most prestigious awards in the healthcare industry – and this year, Spectrum had THREE fantastic finalists from across our community and secure services:
• Judith Durkin – County Durham Drug and Alcohol Service

• Stella Hannaway – HMP Liverpool
• Elaine Gallagher – Wakefield Sexual Health

Stella’s winning entry centred on her work driving forward progress in HMP Liverpool, where our multi-agency partnership Better Health

Liverpool has led on many improvements for the service.

Also in the “Nurse Leader” category, Spectrum’s Judith Durkin was recognised for her fantastic work leading our County Durham substance misuse service, whilst Elaine Gallagher’s sexual health outreach programme was shortlisted for the Nursing in the Community Award.

Each finalist faced stiff competition from other entrants in their nursing categories and it’s a fantastic achievement to reach the final stages of the Awards – we’re proud of all our shortlisted colleagues and the outstanding work they do. Well done everyone!
