Spectrum nurses from HMP Full Sutton scored a double victory at the British Journal of Nursing (BJN) Awards in London on Friday 10 March.
Lead Nurse Carole Robinson was named Renal Home Therapies’ Nurse of the Year for her work in supporting patients with a Home Haemodialysis Programme (aiming to reduce stays in hospital for patients with kidney disease) and nurse Suzanne Ingram was a finalist in the Innovation category for her work supporting the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Programme. Both finalists beat off stiff competition to be recognised at national level in one the sector’s most prestigious awards, which considered entrants from 17 specialist categories in 2017.
Julie Fleetwood, Spectrum’s Executive Nurse for Quality & Patient Safety, said, “I am hugely proud of all the team, who work hard every day in a challenging environment and thoroughly deserve this recognition. I would also like to thank Liz Littlewood for her dedicated leadership of the Spectrum service and her support in helping the team get the recognition they deserve.”
