Inspiring Recovery

Inspiring Recovery is the substance misuse service for Wakefield District, providing comprehensive support and treatment for anyone struggling with drugs and alcohol.

  • ‘Shared Care’ clinics at selected GP surgeries

Inspiring Recovery is a partnership service delivered by Spectrum and Turning Point, which provides a personal approach to substance recovery and tailors our treatments to suit the needs of service users. We approach all discussions with confidentiality, sensitivity, compassion and in a non-judgemental manner.

What Spectrum provides

  • An experienced team offering medical, nursing and therapeutic interventions
  • A joined up approach working with other healthcare providers including mental health review
    – Encourage service users to make positive lifestyle choices and help to improve nutrition and diet
    – Collaboration with local GP surgeries for prescribing needs.

Our Wellbeing nurses offer:

  • Smoking advice
  • Advice on blood borne viruses (BBV)
  • Hep B vaccination
  • Hep C liaison (with St James’s Hospital, Leeds)
  • Nutritional and dietary advice
  • General health and wellbeing screens and advice
  • Mental health review
  • Sexual health advice

Our Detox nurses offer:

  • Detox preparation
  • Support in achieving abstinence goals
  • Relapse prevention
  • Support in building abstinence network
  • Help in maintaining abstinence
  • Liaising with GPs for prescribing needs
