The implant is a small flexible rod about 40mm long that’s inserted under the skin of your upper arm and lasts for three years. This is a Progesterone only method.
Want to learn more about the contraceptive implant? Please download this leaflet.
The contraceptive implant is a long acting reversible contraceptive (LARC) method meaning that once it’s in place, you don’t have to think about it each day or each time you have sex. The implant can remain in your arm for three years before needing to be replaced – but you can have it removed at anytime.
