The West Yorkshire and Harrogate Health and Care Partnership celebrated a fantastic win at the HSJ Awards last night, taking home the “System Leadership Initiative of the Year” Award for the success of their regional BAME network.
This Award celebrates collaborative and integrated systems which drive better outcomes, improvements and experiences through partnership working.
HSJ Judges praised the work of the Partnership’s BAME Network, which comprises colleagues from over 20 local organisations (including Spectrum) and has recently delivered several campaigns to establish broader diversity in regional leadership – including leading a ‘Positive about Islam and Muslims’ campaign for Islamophobia Awareness Month, hosting blogs and activities for Black History Month, creating a professionals network that is influencing the COVID-19 BAME Review and much, much, more.
Judges praised the ambition and importance of topics addressed by the Health and Care Partnership and the really impressive impact it has had in a short period of time, saying the BAME network was “Able to deliver and galvanise change at speed, highlighting the passion involved in bringing the system together to progress in a complex agenda and overcome systemic issues resisting change.”
The WY & Harrogate Partnership comprises over 20 partnership organisations in West Yorkshire and Spectrum is represented by our Head of Marketing and Communications, Nasar.
After winning the Award, a spokesperson for the Partnership BAME Network said, “We’re so proud of everything we’ve managed to achieve in collaboration, the contributions of our Race Equality Network, of our fellows and leaders across the system who have gone above and beyond for an ambition that has delivered such change and impacted on other’s lives in a way that really matters.” Well done to our fantastic partners and colleagues.
