Dr Linda Harris, Spectrum’s Chief Executive
During our descent of Scafell Pike (the final climb of our 10 Peaks in 10 Days challenge for Cancer Research UK) we came across two hikers called Bryan and William. Bryan was very badly injured, with a fractured arm and dislocation. After I administered first aid, Mountain Rescue was summoned and an hour later Bryan was airlifted to Furness General Hospital. We then got William down the mountain safely, to the National Trust carpark. Not quite the ending we anticipated, but we were all safe in the end and definitely gave a new meaning to #CareFor10 !
