Condoms

When used correctly and consistently, condoms can help protect against HIV, other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and unplanned pregnancies.

Take our condom quiz and find out which condom is best for you.

Condoms can be purchased online, through your local pharmacy or supermarket. There are also free condoms available for specific groups. If you’re aged between 16 and 25 years and live in the Wakefield, Barnsley and Wigan & Leigh districts, you can get free condoms from us through the C-Card scheme.

You can also request condoms with your medication from a Spectrum Clinic.

Pre-exposure prophylaxis

Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) is a medication that someone without HIV can take. It will stop them getting HIV during sex without a condom.

It is highly effective at preventing HIV, but it does not protect against sexually transmitted infections (STIs) or unplanned pregnancy.
