Sallie’s an ambassador for staff wellbeing
We’ve been focusing on staff wellbeing during COVID-19 and Sallie, our next Hidden Hero, truly puts wellness at the heart of everything she does!
As Manager of Spectrum’s Death in Custody Services, Sallie understands the pressure colleagues are often under and has long been an active voice in supporting staff wellbeing. She is always thinking of new ideas to keep up morale and began circulating the Action for Happiness Calendar as a way to keep spirits up during lockdown; Sallie is also a member of Spectrum’s dedicated Health and Wellbeing Group and has taken part in walks and wellbeing projects with our charity, Spectrum People.
Sallie is particularly interested in mental health and is one of Spectrum’s Mental Health First Aiders, providing telephone support to colleagues who might be feeling low, struggling with fears around COVID-19 or just in need of someone to talk to for a friendly chat.
Sue, Business Admin Manager, says, “Sallie is a brilliant champion for staff health and wellbeing in Spectrum and her calm, caring nature really shows through in her capacity as a Mental Health First Aider. She shows initiative and often kickstarts wellbeing ideas for staff, involving others and encouraging people to share positive thoughts.”
Andy, our Community Alcohol Development Practitioner, adds, “Sallie was an ambassador for staff health and wellbeing long before COVID-19 came along but the current situation has encouraged her to reach out to a wider audience. We’re all facing similar challenges right now but Sallie has the personal touch and really helps to uplift you and focus your mind on the important things.”
Well done Sallie!
