Spectrum’s Chief Executive, Linda Harris, will join colleagues from York Drug & Alcohol Service on 7th June at the UKCP’s conference “Beyond Symptom” – an exploration of addiction, dependency and connection.
As part of a full-day event exploring addiction and dependency, Linda will speak on the topic of recovery-orientated care – ensuring that service users do not just rely on prescribing for successful outcomes but benefit through wider support from psychosocial interventions, mutual aid and recovery planning.
She will be joined at the event by Spectrum GP Helen Chidlow, who is leading a workshop on clinical care in York, and others members of our service.
The conference will feature:
- Keynote speeches from leading experts in the field of substance misuse
- Discussions about alternative treatment strategies that really work
- A ‘fresh look’ at the addiction industry
Our partners Changing Lives will also speak at the event, exploring how relationships plays an important role in breaking the cycle and dependency that we see in addiction.
