We have a great team of Board Members with a wide variety of skills, knowledge and sector experience to ensure we carry on delivering great services and commitment to our clients and partners.

Dr Linda Harris

Chief Executive

Spectrum Community Health CIC. A former Wakefield General Practitioner and Clinical Director, Linda has championed the needs of vulnerable people for over 15 years. Linda is a trustee of SpectrumPeople, Fellow and Medical Director of Substance Misuse and Associated Health for the RCGP.

Sharon Hardcastle

Director of Finance and Resources

Sharon is a qualified accountant under the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants. Before joining Spectrum, Sharon was Chief Financial Officer for WDCHS and along with managing the £55 million budget for the community services of Wakefield, she also led the due diligence process under the transforming community services agenda. Prior to this role, Sharon had 13 years NHS finance experience, ranging from provider services finance to commissioning finance, including Primary Medical Services contacts for the Wakefield GP’s.

Debbie Ward

Director of Operations (North West)

Debbie began her career as a Nursing Assistant before becoming a qualified Occupational Therapist. She has a strong clinical background and worked for many years in the field of forensic mental health. Debbie also studied for a BSc in Health Sciences, MA in Criminology and an MBA and became Lead Associate Director at Leeds Mental Health Trust, managing specialist mental health services. Prior to joining Spectrum, Debbie worked as Chief Operating Officer in an NHS Commissioning Support Unit.

Julie Finch

Director Nursing and Quality Assurance

Julie is a Registered General Nurse holds an MBA and also an LPGD in Clinical Risk. She has worked in various roles within a number of organisations across Yorkshire and the Humber, including primary, secondary care and also as commissioner of health services. Prior to joining, Spectrum Julie led work nationally to develop tools and techniques to improve quality of care to patients and service users. Julie is committed to improve the quality of care and improving our patient experience as well as being passionate about supporting the development of the nursing and AHP workforce.

Julie Hall

Director of HR & Organisational Development

Julie has worked in HR for over 20 years, in roles in local authorities before joining the NHS in 2015. Her professional background has always been in the public sector, and she’s passionate about healthcare and the services we support.

Michael McGonnell

Director of Operations (North East)

Michael began his career in 2001, joining the NHS City Hospitals in Sunderland to implement the new NHS Number. He has a keen interest in analytics and has carried out many projects for the NHS before moving onto various PCT’s, this is where Michael found his passion for the health & justice sector.

Michael’s most recent role prior to joining Spectrum was with Care UK as their Health in Justice - Deputy Service Director, working across the England to ensure services were running correctly while helping to commercially support the expansion of the service line. During his time at Care UK, Michael assisted the company in their growth, successfully managing the delivery of Healthcare in 32 establishments to 42 prison sites.

Roger Grasby

Chair and Non-Executive Director.

A long-term resident of Wakefield, Roger holds a number of positions within the district. He is Chair of NHS Wakefield District, a member of the West Yorkshire Police Authority, a Justice of the Peace and a non-legal member of the Employment Tribunal. He is also a representative on the Members’ Council for South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

Roger has been Non-Executive Director at a number of organisations, including the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust, the former West Yorkshire Strategic Health Authority and the Wakefield and Pontefract Community Health NHS Trust. He was the Chief Executive of the North Yorkshire Training and Enterprise Council from
1990 to 1999.

Alistair Griggs

Non-Executive Director

Alistair is an experienced operations and governance director, having held board-level roles in the voluntary sector and local authorities. Alistair has a track record in social care, health, housing, and is a charity trustee for Sheffield Citizens Advice and a lay panellist for the Medical Practitioner Tribunal Service. He is committed to excellence, strong customer care and engagement, and is values-driven.

Alison Holbourn

Non-Executive Director

Alison has a distinguished career in healthcare and has worked in a variety of roles since the 1980s, including primary and community care management, regulation and consultancy. She was formerly the Deputy Chief Inspector for Primary Medical Services & Integrated Care at CQC, covering the North Region and national roles in system reviews and new care models. Alison has also held academic roles at University of Manchester, Liverpool John Moores University, UCLAN, and Cass Business School.

Melvyn Ingleson

Non-Executive Director

Melvyn has enjoyed as many years running his own advisory firm, serving as an interface between private companies (in many sectors) who need to build relationships or sell services to Government or wider public sector.

He has a strong professional interest in organisational transformation enabled by digital technologies, and has supported Microsoft’s public sector business growth in recent years.

Tim Straughan

Non-Executive Director

Spectrum’s non-Executive Director, Tim Straughan, joined the Board in January 2017. Tim has a distinguished background in healthcare, and as a qualified dentist he worked in general practice and community services before training to become a Chartered Accountant. Tim has also worked in a number of senior NHS roles, including leading NHS Estates and being Chief Executive and Accounting Officer of the Health and Social Care Information Centre. Tim is currently working for NHS England on a range of programmes ranging from maternity to end-of-life care.
