Spectrum doctor shortlisted for Yorkshire Evening Post awards

A senior Spectrum doctor has been shortlisted as Doctor of the Year at the Yorkshire Evening Post Best of Health Awards 2016.

Dr. Fiona Schneider is the Clinical Lead of Spectrum’s Sexual Health services in Wakefield. The service offers contraception, testing and treatment for sexually transmitted infections, relationship & sexual health education (RSE) and outreach services within local surgeries & clinics.

Fiona is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Obstetrician. She has more than 20 years of experience as a consultant working for various hospitals and healthcare providers. Fiona also leads the Sexual Health Providers Network for Wakefield District which includes organisations like Terrence Higgins Trust, MESMAC, Marie Stopes, SARC and BPAS. And regularly runs training sessions to teach fellow professionals about the new developments in contraception and sexual health.

Fiona will join the other finalists at the awards ceremony in Leeds on 5th December 2016. These awards are organised to recognise the important role that doctors, dentists, pharmacists, opticians and other healthcare professionals play in local areas.
