New partnership with LTHT delivering HIV care in Wakefield

From Tuesday 1st August 2017, Spectrum will be partnering up with Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust (LTHT) to provide specialist HIV treatment and care to those living with HIV in Wakefield.

The new HIV service being delivered by Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (LTHT) will be running from our Trinity Walk Clinic in Wakefield. HIV patients are offered a complete treatment follow-up service, including:

  • Rapid, confidential HIV screening and aftercare support.
  • Follow-up care and 1:1 support.
  • Introductions to partner services and support groups.
  • Support for friends and family of patients affected by HIV.
  • Other outpatient services.

To book an appointment at the Trinity Walk clinic, or to speak to a doctor or nurse between appointments, you can call the Brotherton Wing Service on 0113 392 6762. Standard appointments are 30 minutes, so if you require longer, please let the receptionist know when booking your appointment.

Previously the HIV outpatient clinic in Wakefield has been provided by the MidYorks NHS Trust. The transition over to LTHT will be as smooth as possible, and previous patients can be assured that their HIV treatment and care will not be affected.

If you have any other questions, please see our FAQs: http://www.leedsth.nhs.uk/assets/BWC/faq.php  or feel free to call the Brotherton Wing Service on 0113 392 6762, if the reception team can’t answer your question, a member of the clinical team who can, will call you back.
