Linda’s ‘Tour De UK’

Whilst the UK still buzzes from Bradley Wiggins’ triumph in the Tour de France and the Olympics our very own Chief Executive is about to embark on her very own momentous cycling journey.

On Sunday (5th August) Dr Linda Harris will set out on a real challenge, which we are all dubbing the Tour de UK. Spectrum Community Health will certainly be cheering her on as she peddles to raise valuable funds for Spectrum People and the ‘Come Dine with Spectrum’ initiative.

Come Dine with Spectrum is a weekly, social gathering where volunteers help vulnerable adults shop for and cook healthy meals. In fact we can’t think of a better way to support a campaign that helps adults who are recovering from addiction to adopt a healthier lifestyle than by taking on a fit and active challenge.

Those of you that know Dr Harris will also know that she loves a challenge and this endeavour is no different especially with 990 miles and 14 days of cycling on the horizon. But with a very good cause behind her we are all confident that she will travel the distance from Land’s End to John O’Groats.

We’re all hoping to share Linda’s journey over the next couple of weeks, so watch out for tweets and more blogs along the way and of course feel free to send on your words of encouragement – we are sure that they will all be very well received.

And for those of you who are heading away for a relaxing break, packing your flip flops and a good book there is still time to make a donation to such a good cause.

To make a donation to Come Dine with Spectrum, please send a cheque marked payable to “Spectrum Community Health CIC” to:
