Safeguarding Week 2017
Spectrum are working together with Wakefield Council and other partners in supporting Safeguarding Week 2017. The week aims to bring together people from different sectors including local authority, police, health and education, to share their experience and learn how to protect children, young people and vulnerable adults from harm.
Safeguarding means those most vulnerable from harm, abuse and exploitation. This covers issues such as domestic abuse, suicide awareness, child sex exploitation and substance misuse.
As part of the public information day on Monday 9th October, the Spectrum mobile unit will be outside Wakefield Cathedral between 11am and 4pm with other partners including the West Yorkshire Police and Samaritans. Come along and talk to us about any safeguarding issues you may have, and for a free cup of tea!
Members of the public can also attend a drop-in session at the following places:
- Featherstone and South East Children First Hub: Monday 9th October, 10am – 2pm
- Normanton and Rural Children First Hub: Wednesday 11th October, 11am – 2pm
- Castleford, Pontefract and Knottingley Children First Hub: Thursday 12th October, 10am – 2pm
- Central and North West Children First Hub: Thursday 12th October, 10am – 2pm
If you have any safeguarding concerns about a child or vulnerable adult, contact 0345 8 503 503 or if they’re in immediate danger, call the Police on 999.
